INESAD News: Welcome Mieke Dale-Harris

As part of our policy to promote international exchange and mobility, INESAD works with many associated researchers and interns both remotely and within our offices in La Paz. Join us in welcoming our new La Paz-based intern, Mieke Dale-Harris:

Mieke is a psychology gradute from Goldsmiths University of London. During her travels around Latin America over the last five years, she has developed a passion for development issues, a love for Latin America, and even an interest in economics.

On leaving University Mieke was keen to live abroad and experience other cultures in more depth. However she found personal and professional ambitions and options to be restricted by her lack of a second language. She therefore set out to learn the mostly widely spoken language of her favourite continent – Castellano. First she went to work on a farm in Spain, and later decided to move to Ecuador, where she worked as librarian for 8 months.

Mieke was happy to be accepted to do an internship with INESAD, where she hopes to improve the research skills developed whilst studying psychology and learn more in-depth about Bolivian and Latin American economics.
